Christian de Poorter - a French industrial designer - founded his company, de Poorter Design, in 1974 in Milan, Italy, based on solid technological preparation and project experience. Beyond interpreting the seduction of Italian Design de Poorter takes design development from the idea stage to detailed technical development of the product, including 3D computer renderings and animation when required.

Terraillon, French company, came to the consumer forefront as the result of a design collaboration with de Poorter for products including the now-famous digital bathroom scales and digital timer selected in the 1980's by MOMA, the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

de Poorter Design specializes in industrial design with a strong emphasis on technologically advanced products, particular attention being given to usability, ergonomics and user interface. It is the case of the Dionica "Eagle", innovative electronic point of sale payment terminal nominated for the 1994 Smau Industrial Design Award in Milan. The Dionica "Eagle" has since become the market leader for the POS market in Italy. de Poorter Design recently won the 2000 edition of Smau Industrial Design Award and the Design-In Award with "Opass", a proximity reader for access control and time attendence produced by Plexa

Point of fact, is that the de Poorter design team is positioned to project attractive, seductive yet simple and functional products due in part to its keen knowledge of the Information Technology market.

Mr. de Poorter's background as a freelance journalist allows a broad collaboration with Italian media. He contributes regularly to various leading Italian periodicals on high tech-related issues. He is also science and technology consultant for a national RAI 1 television program, "I Cervelloni" devoted to inventions, inventors and industrial research.
